A MAN from Heybridge has denied a burglary charge but admitted being in charge of a dangerously out of control dog.

Daniel Wood, 44, of Romanhurst, was arrested by a police officer on February 11 in Maldon High Street.

He was charged with burglary and being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control, following an investigation by the Maldon Neighbourhood Policing Team.

He then appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on February 12.

Wood admitted the dangerous dog charge and breaching a community protection notice by not having his dog on a lead or muzzled, as directed by a court.

However, Wood denied the burglary charge.

He was then remanded into police custody.

The man will next appear for a plea and trial preparation hearing at Chelmsford Crown Court on March 12.
