A Tillingham musician is inviting the public to send in their song suggestions which have a positive theme or tone to create an inspirational playlist.
Julian May been a musician in the Maldon and Dengie area for decades and is launching 'a new initiative of positivity' in what he says seem to be dark times now.
Julian said: “We are inviting people to get involved and send in their song suggestions, from any that have been written and released over the many years of making music, that have a positive and uplifting theme or tone.
“This would enable myself and others to collate a list of songs to have them as a one place reference source for any interested parties.”
Julian said voices of the past and present have always had something to say about world peace and unity, saying songs of a positive nature can inspire others to make positive choices like him.
Julian himself started out as a four-piece boy band of brothers in 1975 in the Dengie near Tillingham going through various iterations over the years.

The Mays started out as a four-piece boy band of brothers in 1975 in the Dengie near Tillingham going through various iterations over the years.
The group has recently raised £1,070 to Heybridge Ward and released the album From the Archives which includes some of the band’s early recordings in Southend.
Julian’s new initiative – called ‘United by Music' – is also wanting to hear from any radio presenters who feel they would like to be part of something positive.

Once the positive music list has been compiled, Julian and others will be able to send it to any interested parties as a comprehensive directory of songs to refer to.
The playlist could further be incorporated into an inspirational back-to-back playlist of positive songs that potential listeners can dip into if they so wish.
Julian added: “I am hoping that the selection of songs can be presented to any interested radio stations, small or large who feel they would like to be part of a positive force over the airways in order to nourish the UK and beyond in the spirit of being ‘United by Music’ with an inspirational hour or more of just fantastic songs.”
Please send any songs to ‘The Positive Playlist’ via julianmay@outlook.com.
