Police have arrested an individual who attempted to trespass into a building as the vehicle is suspected to be linked to hare coursing.

Essex Police’s rural engagement team has been patrolling rural areas of the Maldon District for hare coursing, which is the illegal, competitive pursuit of hares.

On Monday, the police arrested an individual suspected of entering a building as a trespasser and attempting to steal a vehicle.

An allegation of burglary has been made, and the force said they will continue to investigate this matter and review all relevant evidence.

Essex Police has also seized a vehicle for having no insurance, which is additionally suspected to be linked to wildlife crime such as hare coursing.
