Work is progressing on major improvements to car parks and open spaces across Maldon.

Maldon District Council is delivering a programme of upgrades across the district, aimed at maintaining and improving public facilities through resurfacing, relining, and structural repairs.

A council spokesman said: "We’re carrying out essential improvements over the next few weeks to keep our car parks and open spaces in great condition all year round.

"During these works there may be reduced or no access at times.

"Clear signage will be displayed on site, including directions to other nearby car parks where applicable."

The works are taking place in stages, with some areas already completed and others set to begin soon.

White Horse Lane Car Park has already been resurfaced and relined, while the emergency access road at Promenade Park has also been upgraded.

Ongoing works include Longfield’s footpaths near the doctor’s surgery, as well as Cobbins Chase.

Upcoming projects include full resurfacing and relining at Millfield’s Car Park for two weeks starting February 23, and structural strengthening and surfacing repairs at Butt Lane Car Park for four weeks from March 2.

The council is encouraging residents to report any issues with car parks or open spaces directly through its website or by calling 01621 854477.

It reminds the public that it is not responsible for repairs to the public highway network, which should be reported to Essex Highways.

The spokesman said: "Thanks for bearing with us while we deliver this latest series of works to improve local facilities in the district."
