ESSEX Police’s speed enforcement team detected 515 offences in the past week across North Essex as they say speeding endangers lives.
Essex Police said despite a week of rain, their speed enforcement team remained out across the county.
This week, the team focused on locations across north Essex including White Elm Road in Bicknacre, the A12, Woodham Ferrers, Peldon, and Heckfordbridge.
This is to help keep roads safe in support of the Vision Zero campaign — which aims for zero fatal collisions on Essex roads by 2040 or sooner.
Across the week, the team visited numerous sites and detected 515 offences.
A spokesperson for Essex Police said: “Speeding is anti‑social, endangers lives, and is a contributing factor in serious and fatal collisions.
“We’re always encouraged when drivers, residents and members of the public engage positively with our officers on the roadside and thank us for our work.
“Please remember: speed limits exist for everyone’s safety. Sticking to them isn’t just the law — it could save a life.”
