A MALDON man has been charged with stealing nearly £8,000 worth of meat and deli items from an Essex garage shop.
Paul Evans, 47, was arrested on Sunday by police officers at the BP garage in Lower Burnham Road, South Woodham Ferrers.
The charge was related to 49 separate incidents between January 1 and February 1, this year.
He appeared before Southend Magistrates Court yesterday.
An Essex Police spokesperson said: "He was remanded on bail with a condition not to enter any BP garage in Essex."
The man is next due to appear before the court on April 2.
