A BURNHAM filmmaker’s new film about the mythical creature Bigfoot will get a red-carpet premiere.

Craig David Dowsett, starred in the British independent slasher film Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey, has created a horror film about the large, hairy mythical creature also known as Sasquatch.

The creature is believed by some people to exist in the Northwest United States and Canada, with one Bigfoot Reddit group having 250,000 members.

The first view of the trailer was shown in at a Bigfoot convention in Pennsylvania in August.

There will now be a red-carpet premiere in Epsom near London on February 14.

The film will then be on streaming platforms eight weeks later.

Craig is the first UK director to make a film on this topic, and the film was shot in West Sussex and Somerset with some of the crew members also being from Burnham.

Craig said: “I am very excited to the movie on the big screen, and it shows dreams do come true, you just have to keep going.

“We have six films due this year, some horror and some action and I would just like to say thank you for all the support that we have received.

“It's going to be a very busy year.”
