A second position has now become available for a new town councillor for Maldon after a resignation.
Councillor for South ward, Chioma Cureton recently left her role meaning the position in the town council office has arisen.
If by February 10, 2026, a request for an election to fill the vacancy is made in writing to the returning officer by TEN electors for the parish, an election will be held to fill it.
Otherwise the vacancy will be filled by co-option.
Requests for a by-election regarding this casual vacancy must be sent to returning officer, Doug Wilkinson, Maldon Council, Princes Road, CM9 5DL.
