Two men, including one who was found to have £20,000 in illegally obtained cash, have admitted their involvement in drugs offences in Southminster.

Darren Playfair, 51, and Christopher Bolton, 43, appeared before Chelmsford Crown Court to face a series of charges.

Playfair, of Bradwell Road, Steeple, admitted acquiring criminal property in the form of £20,000 and conspiring with others to be concerned in the supply of cocaine.

Bolton, of Jacks Walk, Bradwell-on-Sea, admitted conspiring together with others to be concerned in the supply of cocaine and being concerned in the supply of ketamine.

He denied a third charge of possessing a prohibited weapon in the form of a 9mm pistol, and will stand trial in May next year.

Both have been remanded in custody.
