Le Bouchon Brasserie and Hotel, in The Square, Heybridge, is an 18th century Grade II-listed three-storey building.

Christie and Co are now selling the business as a freehold business for £1,500,000 which includes land located to the rear of the hotel.

This land will be held under an overage agreement with further details available through the selling agents.

The hotel has 13 ensuite bedrooms including four double rooms, three classic king rooms, two deluxe king or twin rooms, three superior king or twin rooms, and a bridal suite.

There is a main bar, orangery, private dining space, and the main restaurant which has a fully equipped trade kitchen and food preparation areas.

There is also a wine store, a cooler with beer raising equipment, and a patron’s car park.

The restaurant was also rated as one one of the best in the UK according to OpenTable and KAYAK.

Christie and Co said: “This superb hotel has traded with the same dedicated and diligent owners since 2012 and offers some of the finest accommodation in the area complemented by a beautiful bar and dining room along with an orangery.

“Trade relies mainly on leisure visitors, although there are numerous companies in the area using the hotel for corporate guests such as Rolls Royce who are located opposite the hotel.”

The establishment is overseen by a husband and wife with a full team including a general and deputy general manager.

The business had a net sales income of £1,214,185 for the year ending December 31, 2024.
