A FAMILY-RUN farm in Maldon has been crowned the winner of a national sausage competition.

Wicks Manor was named the 2025 UK Supreme Sausage Champion for its Olde English Pork Sausage, which also won the title of Best Traditional Pork Sausage.

Fergus Howie, managing director at Wicks Manor, said: "We're so proud of our Wicks Manor Olde English Pork Sausage.

"We've put a lot of effort into creating a tasty, traditional sausage, and it's great to see recognition for the care, dedication, and hard work that all our team put into every product we make."

The award was part of UK Sausage Week, an annual event organised by Meat Management magazine.

An awards lunch was held at Butcher's Hall in London on Monday, October 27.

Hundreds of sausages from across the UK were judged in both their raw and cooked state.

The Supreme Sausage Champion was then selected from the winners of the 10 competition categories.

Graham Yandell, MBE, publisher of Meat Management magazine, said: "It's a pleasure to be able to recognise these well-deserving businesses for the quality sausage products that they are producing.

"To take a mealtime staple like the sausage and create a quality product time and time again is an impressive feat."
