PEOPLE living in Maldon are invited to have their say on the district's new culture and heritage strategy.

Maldon District Council, in partnership with Cultural Engine CIC, has launched the consultation as part of its plans to develop a new strategy which reflects the needs and aspirations of the entire community.

Councillor Richard Siddall, leader of the council, said: "The Maldon district is a place of incredible heritage, history and inspiring natural beauty.

"We know there is a thriving creative spirit and, this is a unique opportunity for our residents, visitors, and local organisations to help us build a strategy that truly supports and enhances our local culture and heritage.

"To enable the final strategy to be a genuine reflection of the district’s priorities, we want to hear from as many people as possible, we really want your contribution."

Once finalised, the strategy will focus on preserving and promoting the district’s history while fostering a vibrant cultural scene that is accessible to all.

The council is particularly interested in hearing from people who do not currently engage in cultural activities, to understand how the new strategy can be made more inclusive and accessible.

The consultation is open to everyone and is available at www.maldon.gov.uk/cultureandheritage.
