MALDON District Community Safety Partnership has officially rebranded to become the Safer Maldon Partnership.

Since the group was established under the 1998 Crime and Disorder Act, it has evolved significantly in both scope and focus.

The new name reflects the activities and aims of the partnership today, working strategically across a broader range of safety and wellbeing initiatives.

The Safer Maldon Partnership includes Maldon District Council, emergency services, the NHS, the probation service, and the voluntary sector.

Together, they tackle issues impacting community safety and resilience.

These include addressing antisocial behaviour, assisting domestic abuse survivors, promoting fire safety and crime prevention, and responding to residents' concerns.

Richard Siddall, leader of Maldon District Council, said: "The Safer Maldon Partnership is a key part of our strategy to protect and support our communities, and I’m proud of the work we’re doing together.

"We’ve changed the name so that it reflects what the partnership delivers today.

"It’s not just about crime prevention – it’s about making the Maldon district a safer, happier, healthier, supportive and welcoming place to live, work and visit."

The Safer Maldon Partnership will continue its campaigns, resident support, and response coordination, with a renewed commitment to collaboration and transparency in maintaining district safety.
