Meet the powerhouse vocalist whose show is returning to Maldon

Callum White, 23, from Heybridge started his career singing at Maldon’s Theatretrain when he was very young.

He then became an entertainment manager at a caravan park, singing at multiple sites before being approached by the luxury cruise Cunard.

Callum enjoyed delivering big performances on the ship with plans to go back to perform his show Doing it My Way.

He said: “It still feels quite surreal.

“There’s a lot of pressure but as soon as those curtains open and I hear that initial round of applause it’s just like a pure pump of adrenaline.

“I always say to people I couldn’t sing out of key even if I tried, it is that feeling you have done all that work for them and it’s also their time to work for you as well”.

The show’s name, a reference to Frank Sinatra, also refers to Callum’s career where he tries to keep away from agents to manage his career himself.

He said: “It literally just came from a little thought in my head, sitting in my cabin, I started making a logo, and it all sort of started from there.”

For his latest show he will be joined on stage by a five-piece live band, who have worked with artists such as Tom Jones and Cliff Richard, as well two backing vocalists.

Callum said the ticket price of £24 reflected the additional labour of the musicians on stage, saying he would never charge “ridiculous prices”.
