Maldon's historic Thames sailing barges are offering last-minute public voyages.

The Thames Sailing Barge Trust, a Maldon-based charity, is giving people a chance to sail aboard its famous vessels.

Two-night sea cruises aboard Pudge or her sister barge Centaur will set sail from Maldon on July 11 and 25.

Dunkirk veteran Pudge will set off from Queenborough on the Isle of Sheppey on a four-day voyage on the evening of Sunday, July 27, visiting Tower Bridge in London as just one of its destinations

Pudge will also compete in the Swale Barge Match, one of many similar events happening in south east England throughout the summer.

This three-night voyage, including the Swale race, leaves Queenborough on the evening of Thursday, July 31.

All voyages are fully catered, but participants might be invited to lend a hand at the wheel or hoisting the red sails.

For booking and fares information, contact Carey Brown at bookings@bargetrust.org.

Profits from these voyages go to the Thames Sailing Barge Trust to help preserve the historic vessels.
