A Maldon school campus has closed due to a power outage affecting more than 40 homes.
Plume Academy has to close their Mill Road campus from noon due to the site not having heating, lighting or active phone lines.
The school released a statement on their Facebook page informing parents of the news saying they are "unable to operate under these conditions, on health and safety grounds".
They also confirmed the issue began at 10am this morning.
Their Fambridge Road campus remains open and is unaffected.
There are also more than 40 homes which have been affected and UK Power Networks say they hope to have sorted the issue between 2 and 3pm today.
