The Maldon Festival has unveiled its "most diverse programme ever" for 2025.
Starting on Saturday, June 21, and running until Sunday, July 12, the festival will feature more than 25 concerts, showcases, recordings, masterclasses, and events.
These will be held across more venues than ever before.
Celebrating 500 years of music, the 2025 festival will feature a wide range of genres, from rock to goth, jazz to classical, and choral to orchestral.
Music will be played in various settings, from the smallest pubs to grand churches, ensuring there is something for every musical taste.
James Burrell-Cook, chairman of the Maldon Festival trustees, said: "The Maldon Festival has truly grown this year, expanding our reach and offering even more incredible experiences for our community and visitors.
"We're so excited to present a programme that delves deep into musical history while also showcasing contemporary talent and fostering local participation.
"Whether you want to join in, be part of the audience, or become a volunteer, there are countless ways to experience the magic of the festival."
The 2025 programme promises a rich variety of sound and performances, with festival favourites making a return.
These include Triptych's toe-tapping style, a Silent Movie Night with live musical accompaniment, James Housego's piano recital, and Blondel's masterclass and concert, featuring music from the Middle Ages.
The festival will also feature live recordings and unique performances from The Mighty Bosscats, and a variety of genres, including goth, rock, blues, country, and romantic or medieval a cappella.
International artists from the Scheggino Opera Summer School and the A’ars Musica Male Voice Choir from Germany will also perform.
The 50-piece Maldon Orchestra will take audiences on a musical journey through time.
Local talent will also be showcased, with performances from the Maldon Orchestra, Plume Academy, Mersea Island Choir, and the Festival Choir.
There will be a candlelight concert in the medieval church of St Mary’s Mundon, and Barrie Johnson's interpretations of local tales and mysteries.
The festival will kick off on June 21 with performances from Fox Cub and the Big Red, Matt Barber, Superheads, Ash Carr, and Claire Wyatt.
Further highlights include Triptych's performance on June 22, the Opera Gala Evening on June 28, and the Wizard of Oz at Plume, Maldon’s Community Academy, on July 8 and 9.
The festival will conclude on July 12 with James Housego's piano concert, a festival favourite.
