A popular park in Maldon is set to be transformed for a 1940s revival weekend.

Maldon Promenade Park will host the two-day event from June 21 to 22, 2025.

The event will run from 10am until 4pm each day, with a dance starting at 6pm on the Saturday night.

There will be live music, a DJ, and dance classes, as well as 1940s makeovers, living history exhibits, re-enactors, military vehicles, and memorabilia.

Confirmed acts so far include The Vibettes, West End Divas, and Skyline Band.

Visitors are encouraged to join in by dressing in suitable period clothing, either civilian or allied uniforms. Other uniforms will not be allowed.

The event will be packed with entertainment, with a number of stalls.

Traders will include a hairdresser, a photographer, as well as stalls selling clothes, memorabilia, and food.

The bar will be well stocked with local ales from The Mighty Oak Brewery as well as wines, spirits, and ciders.

On the Saturday night, there will be a dance with live vocalists and a big swing band.

The dance floor will be covered so the event will go ahead whatever the weather conditions.

If people want to leave the park, there will be shuttle buses to nearby partner attractions.

This is a ticketed event with tickets available for the day, weekend, or just evening dance. Tickets are available through The Best Bar None website.

Under 5s can attend the event for free and do not require a ticket. Dogs are also welcome but must be kept on leads.

Tickets will also include free entry to the Museum of Power and subsidised entry to Stow Maries Aerodrome.
