THE mayor of Maldon is hosting a exciting charity concert to fundraise for two important charities.
The Electro Jazz Orchestra, which formed in Essex in 2022, will be coming to the town for the Mayor of Maldon’s Charity Concert in aid of Action for Family Carers and Farleigh Hospice.
The band with traditional instruments is supported by technology which brings strings, percussion, and even a lion’s roar to the arrangement.
The technology allows the band to manage different tracks while maintaining a sound and feel which suits all ages.

Maldon mayor Andrew Lay said: “Action for Family Carers and Farleigh Hospice are very close to and valued highly by the residents of Maldon town.
“Their work is greatly appreciated by the many residents who require their services or the support and comfort they provide to so many people.
“I was fortunate to see the Electro Jazz Orchestra perform near Colchester last year.
“They are an amazing talented group of amateur musicians from mid and north Essex, and we are so lucky they agreed to perform in Maldon.
“I look forward to enjoying the performance by this wonderfully talented big band and to raising funds to support these charities.”

Farleigh Hospice has been providing hospice care to people affected by life-limiting illnesses across mid Essex since it was established in 1982.
Action for Family Carers and Farleigh Hospice’s services can be access through their websites.
The Mayor of Maldon’s Charity Concert will take place at Maldon United Reformed Church on Friday, May 9, at 7.30pm.
