A LEGO club where everyone can “play together and work together” has opened in Maldon.
The Brick Club, situated at 131 High Street, will be the town’s new social hub catering to Lego lovers of all ages.
Visitors can enjoy a rummaging in the trough of bricks to build anything they can imagine, with Lego sets on the shelves and regular craft nights to build picture frames, jewellery, or other household items.
The club will also cater to adults with Lego chess and poker, and with antique and retired Lego sets for sale.
Play - The Brick Club has shelves of Lego sets to build or to buy, with more creations on display (Image: Mark Rogers) The Brick Club was the vision of Mark Rogers, 40, who wanted to give Maldon’s community “a place to stay and play”.
Mark said: “Lego creates and opens up your mind to the possibility of what you can and can’t do.
“Some people see potatoes, some people see potential.
“I’ve built so much Lego and it’s quite a crazy hobby of mine, and I want people to come in and play together and work together.”
Owner - Mark Rogers loves building Lego with his two daughters (Image: Mark Rogers) Mark has covered one side of his 26ft narrow boat in Lego, and he has several items around the house made from the multicoloured bricks, including picture frames and shelves.
He said: “My toilet roll holder is made of Lego. If I need something, my first thought is always if I can make it with Lego.
“There’s just so many different things you can do, and you can push the limits with it.
“We’re going to do workshops and groups with regulars and all work on one project – I have a giant Disney castle and a pirate boat that needs building.
“It’ll be a community club, where people can engage with their community, meet other locals, and open their minds to building together.”

The club will also cater to adults with Lego chess and poker, and with antique and retired Lego sets for sale.
A £5 entry covers two hours, and builders can spend as long as they like on their creations or leave them in lockers at the premises until they return.
The Brick Club will be open from 10am to late.
