POLICE are investigating after public toilets at a town park were left covered in graffiti by vandals 

Riverside Park at Station Road, Burnham, has suffered significant damage after a recent act of vandalism last Tuesday.

The artistic attack occurred between 12pm and 4pm, with one graffiti tag involved appearing in several other incidents of graffiti within the park and around Burnham.

Images show large swathes of black paint streaking across the toilet’s walls, along with a messy smear and splatters in the sink.

On the same day, the public toilets in White Horse Lane were vandalised with childish writing.

A spokesman for Maldon District Council said it caused "significant damage" and that the incident has been reported to Essex Police.

“Anyone who has information about this incident is encouraged to contact Essex Police."

Officers investigating the incident have put out an appeal for more information.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: “We are investigating an incident of vandalism reported to have taken place at public toilets, in Riverside Park, Burnham.

“This was reported to have taken place between 12pm and 4pm on Tuesday 22 October.

“Our enquiries are ongoing.

"Anyone with information or footage which could assist our investigation should contact us as soon as possible.
