A Halloween quiz night in Maldon has been hailed a "huge success" after raising money for a community radio station.
Caroline Coastal FM held the event at the Blue Boar Hotel in Silver Street, on Friday, October 18.
Chloe Quye, manager at the Blue Boar, said: "It was great to host Caroline Coastal’s Halloween quiz.
"Everyone really enjoyed themselves and we welcomed lots of new faces."
The quiz night, which saw more than 50 people turn up, included a £500 raffle prize donated by businesses and presenters.
The question categories included 80s and 90s music, as well as the history of Maldon.
Joshua Holmes-Bright, assistant station manager at Caroline Coastal FM, said: "(It was) a huge success.
"It's all thanks to the pub staff, the team at the station, and the listeners who came along in numbers to raise money for their local radio station.
"Thanks also to the local businesses who donated vouchers and prizes for our raffle, which had a total prize value of £500.
"That meant we were able to raise extra funds to keep us broadcasting across the Maldon district and along the Essex coast."
Caroline Coastal FM provides a 24-hour radio service for the towns and villages in the district, with news bulletins and promoting nearby causes and events.
The station’s next major event will be 'Light Up Maldon', the town’s revamped Christmas lights switch-on celebration, on November 28, where it will broadcast live from the event.
Caroline Coastal can be picked up on 94.7FM and 104.7FM or visit carolinecoastal.co.uk.
