ESSEX Police was at Maldon's Promenade Park yesterday evening after being called following "concerns about a man’s welfare".
Officers say they received a call shortly before 6.45pm.
Emergency services attended and our officers detained a man.
A spokesman said he was taken to hospital for medical assistance and that emergency services left the scene at about 9pm.
"Thank you to the members of the public who helped with this incident," they added.
