POLICE in Maldon arrested an individual over drugs and weapon offences in a continued effort to crackdown on the issue in the area.
The Maldon Town Team were patrolling the town centre when officers spotted a vehicle of interest before quickly stopping it.
The force says the driver was quickly detained and placed in handcuffs and a "quantity of suspected cocaine and an illegal knife" was located.
As a result, the individual was subsequently arrested on suspicion of being in possession of cocaine, and for being in possession of a bladed or pointed article with no lawful excuse.
A spokesman said: "The team do their best to keep illegal drugs and weapons off the streets of Maldon.
"The individual was charged and will need to attend court in relation to these allegations."
