A Maldon resident has been recognised with a top award in a ceremony hosted by adult education provider, ACL Essex.
On July 3, the annual awards ceremony took place at Central Baptist Church in Chelmsford, where outstanding achievements and contributions made throughout the academic year were celebrated.
More than 40 awards, ranging from 'Lifelong Learning' to 'Going the Extra Mile', were presented to learners, staff, and apprentices.
Kaye Hutton from Maldon won the 'Outstanding Achievement' award for her work on pottery courses at ACL Essex.
This award praises individuals who have made extraordinary progress in their learning.
Ms Hutton said: "Apart from passing my driving test I don’t think I’ve ever achieved anything.
"To be recognised for something artistic, I’m really chuffed.
"I signed up for pottery because I always wanted to have a go at throwing and from the first lump of mud I just absolutely loved it.
"Hopefully, I will inspire other people to try new things. ACL is very good, I’m so glad I took up pottery."
At the event, Lisa Jarentowski, Principal of ACL Essex, expressed her pleasure in handing out the awards to such exceptional recipients.
Principal Jarentowski said: "This is my second year presenting awards at our annual ceremony.
"It’s a pleasure to hand out these awards to our exceptional learners, staff and partners.
"It's amazing to see all the incredible accomplishments they've achieved this year, it's truly rewarding to acknowledge their hard work and success.
"Well done to everyone who received an award this year.”
