BUDDING seafarers and complete novices will be given the chance to experience a free sailing event which could make a perfect father’s day trip.
The Royal Corinthian Yacht Club, at The Quay, in Burnham on Crouch, will hold its Discover Sailing event on June 16, which is available to all, no matter your age or experience.
Attendees will be able to head out on the water in a variety of different vessels, including 707 yachts, Squib keelboats, and even paddleboards.
Visitors will also be able to take a look inside the club’s headquarters and understand more about the club, what it does, and the events it holds.
A club spokesman said: “These community-minded events are intended as a fun and safe way to get people out on the water.
“It’s for people who either may be interested in the pastime or those who wouldn’t have the opportunity to do so otherwise.
“There will be the chance to sail on our yachts on the River Crouch, maybe have a go on a rowing boat with Burnham-on-Crouch Rowing Club or see our youth group ‘Otters’ in action.”
Food and drink will be served on the day, including a Father’s Day carvery which can be booked.
The RNLI will also be attending the event.
