Dramatic drone footage shows a large fire engulf a house in Southampton.

Firefighters raced to Richmond Road this afternoon to tackle the blaze after loud ‘explosions’ were heard.

Huge plumes of smoke can be seen billowing from the semi-detached house in the video.

Fire crews are working hard to tackle the blaze from the front and rear of the property.

According to Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire Service, the fire engulfed the entire property.

But it was successfully brought under control before 4.30pm this afternoon.

A spokesperson said: “"The fire has been successfully brought under control, with firefighters currently conducting thorough checks for any remaining hotspots.

"All persons were accounted for."
