MILITARY enthusiasts gathered on Maldon Promenade for a celebration of wartime history.

The Essex Historical Military Vehicle Association is a registered charity and one of the fastest growing military vehicle associations in the UK.

The celebration is an annual event which saw vehicles displayed along the Promenade.

The majority of the vehicles on display are from the Second World War or after.

There is also an educational element involved, as the intention is to encourage an interest in history for young people as well as nostalgia for those who remember the war.

Stephen Nunn, joint patron of Essex HMVA, said: “It was a really good event.

“The weather was kind to us and we had a good showing of vehicles”.
