A ROAD in Maldon is reportedly closed following an accident and oil spillage.
The incident is believed to have taken place between Spital Road and the B1018.
A post from the Essex Travel News account on X reads: “A414 Maldon- Accident between Spital road and the B1018. Delays building.”
Nigel Miller, ward councillor for North Maldon, said that he was aware the accident had happened but had limited information at the time of speaking.
A spokesperson for Essex Highways said: “We have been informed by Essex Police that the A414 is currently closed between the B1018 to the south of Maldon and the B1018 to the north of Maldon following an accident and oil spillage.
"Severe delays are expected in the area.”
Essex Police and East of England Ambulance Service have been approached for comment.
