POLICE have launched an appeal after a fight broke out at a Wetherspoons pub in Maldon.

The fight happened at the Rose and Crown pub in Maldon High Street after two customers were asked to leave, according to the pub chain.

Police were called to the pub just before 9.30pm on Friday, December 8, to reports of a fight involving a group of people.

A spokesman for JD Wetherspoon said: “A fight broke out amongst a number of customers after two customers were asked to leave the premises and the police were then called.

“We do not tolerate violent behaviour on our premises and are assisting the police with their investigation so the appropriate action can be taken against those involved.”

Officers are now looking to speak to four men in connection with the incident.

Essex Police have released CCTV images of the men in the hope of tracing them.

A force spokesman said: “We want to speak to these four men in connection with a disturbance at a pub in Maldon. If you recognise the men please come forward.
