DRIVERS will be able to park for free in the centre of Maldon on set dates just in time for Christmas shopping.
Maldon District Council has announced it will once again be offering free parking in all of the council-owned town centre car parks.
Free parking will start at 4pm on Thursday, November 30, to support the Maldon Christmas Fayre.
Other free parking dates will be from 2pm on Thursday, December 7, 14 and 21, and all day on Christmas Eve.
The council hopes the free parking offer will support the town’s businesses in the lead-up to Christmas.
Leader Richard Siddall said; “It’s great to be able to support the Maldon High Street businesses again at this time of year.
“I am sure the free parking in the run-up to Christmas will encourage residents and visitors to the town to shop local and help support the businesses in Maldon’s fantastic High Street.
“So, whether you're out shopping, enjoying a festive meal or party, or simply soaking in the holiday spirit, you won't have to worry about the cost of parking.”
