THOUSANDS of people enjoyed a popular firework show after organisers put on an even bigger and better show than previous years.

Maldon Rotary Club leaders are delighted with the success of the fireworks display in Maldon's Promenade Park.

There was a floodlit lake and stage plus performances by local artists Mains’ Haul and a fire-breathing act from Joel Hicks.

The team hope to make substantial charitable donations and support even more local Essex and Rotary charities.

The organisers have thanked the sponsors for the event as without their help, ticket costs would not be so low.

The display was staged by an award-winning display team, who are holders of the National Firework Championship.

The annual firework show hosted by the Rotary Club was this year supported by Maldon businesses including High Street businesses TFP Financial Planning and Borough Flooring and Home as well as Events Factor and Heating Oil Today.

Ian Liston, of Borough Flooring and Home, said: “We are proud to be part of this local event with a great community spirit and working with such lovely people.”

Head of the organising committee for Maldon Rotary Brian Farrington said: “What a night. The weather was kind to us and it was fantastic to have our sponsors down and enjoying the event – the glow sticks sold out and they make the park look incredible and the additional fire-breathing display this year was really something!

“We are thrilled to have started this incredible partnership with TFP Financial Planning and Borough Flooring and Home and we hope to work with them on other events in the park in 2024.

“When local businesses work with community groups like us, we can create fantastic events as well as give back to our charities at a time when they need it more than ever.

“We really can’t thank them enough for their support and their teams are great to work with - we hope to be back with another sell-out event in 2024.”
