THE impact of climate change on the future of Maldon will be discussed at an upcoming meeting.

The Maldon Society is set to host its next talk discussing climate change and what it means for the town.

Climate research business owner David Fell will be the speaker at the next meeting held in the Cygnet Room behind the Swan Hotel in Maldon on Thursday, October 5.

He established his business, Brook Lyndhurst, nearly 25 years ago and has since been researching the "many aspects of climate change".

He looks at how climate change impacts governments, universities, community groups and large charities.

His research focused on the human behavioural aspects of sustainability such as why people do or do not cycle, use renewable energy or drive cars.

A spokesman for the Maldon Society said: “David hopes that it might be helpful to share some of the insights he has gained over the past quarter of a century or so, with the hope of helping the people of Maldon get ready for what’s to come.”

Doors open at 6.30pm, with the meeting starting at 7pm.
