STUDENTS in Tiptree have wowed their parents and teachers with their GCSE results.
Thurstable School’s Year 13 students are celebrating receiving their exam results this morning.
The following students have been recognised for their individual achievements.
Jasper Peacock achieved seven grade 9s in English, English literature, mathematics, biology, chemistry, music and history. In addition, he also achieved a grade 8 in further mathematics, art and geography.
Adam Lilywhite secured six grade 9s in English literature, mathematics, biology, chemistry, music. He also achieved a grade 8 in further mathematics and physics and a grade 7 in German.
Daisy Cotterill scored grade 9s in mathematics, further mathematics, combined science, German and history as well as gaining grade 8s in English literature and drama.
Emily Cross achieved grade 9s in mathematics, biology, chemistry and history, as well as a grade 8 in art, English, German and physics and grade 7s in English literature and further maths.
Alexander Lyons scored grade 9s in mathematics, further mathematics and physics in addition to grade 8s in biology, chemistry, computer science, English literature and history and a grade 7 in German.
Arabella Pounder secured grade 9s in English literature, history and biology as well as grade 8s in English, drama, Spanish, chemistry, physics and business studies and a grade 7 in mathematics.
Owen Scarborough achieved grade 9s in geography and history and grade 8s in English literature, mathematics, biology and physics as well as a grade 7 in English.
The following students have also been recognised for the amazing progress that they have made and their excellent grades: Oscar Coughlan, Gabriella Prokopenov, Bobby Stafford, Chloe Swan, James Rogers, Jessica Walker and Archie Read.
Headteacher, James Ketley said: “We are really proud of the year group who have experienced significant disruption to their secondary education through the pandemic but always shown a commendable desire to succeed and overcome these challenges.
“We want to celebrate the achievements of all of our students and wish them well as they continue the next steps in their educational journey.
“We also want to recognise those students whose journey has been more challenging than others and through their endeavour have succeeded.”
