Despite worries about the weather, the show went ahead successfully, much to the relief of the organising committee.

Looking ahead, they promised more attractions and competitions for children, handicrafts, horticulture, and floral artists at future shows.

A spokesman said: "There were lovely exhibits in the large marquees and various wares to buy, along with food and drinks.Maldon and Burnham Standard: Dancers - E & E Dance at the Southminster Flower & Fun Dog Show Dancers - E & E Dance at the Southminster Flower & Fun Dog Show (Image: Jan Gooderham and Barry Eager)
