A MAN was hit by a car from behind while walking down Burnham High Street.

The driver of the vehicle failed to stop after hitting the walker but, thankfully, he received no serious injuries.

It happened at around 10.30pm last Saturday.

Officers investigating the hit-and-run incident have launched an appeal for information or footage relating to the collision.

An Essex Police spokesperson said: “We are appealing for witnesses following a collision in Burnham High Street.

“A pedestrian was walking on the pavement with friends at around 10.30pm last Saturday, May 13, when he was in collision with a vehicle which came from behind him.

“The car failed to stop at the scene but, thankfully, the man was not seriously injured.

“If you have any information, CCTV, dash cam or other footage in relation to this incident, then please get in contact with us.

“Please quote incident 1484 of 13 May.”
