A SAILING trust for deprived youth is set to celebrate its 40th anniversary this year.
The Cirdan Sailing Trust, a charity dedicated to providing sailing opportunities to disadvantaged young people, is celebrating its 40th anniversary in summer this year.
Since its founding in 1983, the organization has been committed to using sailing as a means of developing life skills, boosting self-confidence, and fostering resilience among 12-25-year-olds facing difficulties in life.
Based in Bradwell-on-Sea, Essex, the Cirdan Sailing Trust operates its fleet of vessels from various locations across the UK.
Their residential sailing experiences offer participants the chance to become part of a crew, both above and below deck, immersing themselves in the challenge and adventure of life at sea.

This unique opportunity has proven particularly beneficial in improving mental health and well-being, especially in light of the stresses induced by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Over nearly four decades, the Cirdan Sailing Trust has served approximately 34,000 young people, working closely with a diverse range of organizations including SEN schools, youth justice services, young carers, and those suffering from mental health issues and ASD.
