A STARVING dog is recovering after being rescued by police in Maldon.

Officers found a dog alone and underfed on a busy main road in Maldon.

The golden labrador had no microchip and was not registered.

Officers fed the dog at the police station before arranging for it to be rehomed by a council dog warden.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: “Maldon officers rescued this very underfed dog from a busy main road last week.

“She enjoyed breakfast courtesy of the team.”
