A POPULAR agricultural show attracted thousands of people in celebration of the business’s anniversary.

Ernest Doe hosted its 63rd Doe Show in Ulting, which also coincides with the business's 125th anniversary.

This year's event had its largest ever attendance with more than 10,000 people across the three days.

The company was founded by Ernest Doe on the site in Ulting in 1898 and has been managed by his family ever since.

The company now has 19 branches across the South East and East Anglia and employs more than 550 people across its sites.

The free show is held every year and attracts farmers and dealers to view demonstrations of machinery.

Visitors get the opportunity to meet the manufacturers and visit more than 150 stands from key industry brands.

There was also a new viticulture machinery area, an expanded construction zone with a demonstration plot, the latest battery-powered technology, working demonstrations, the latest machinery and vintage favourites.

The business sold lots of ex-demo and used machinery as well as country clothing and parts.

Graham Parker, sales director for Ernest Doe & Sons, said: "2023 marks the 125th anniversary since the business was founded back in 1898.

“We were delighted that so many people joined us to celebrate this fantastic milestone for our company, with over 10,000 visitors across the three days.

“Business was brisk with lots of machinery and equipment sold across our agricultural, construction and groundcare business areas.

“As well as a significant amount of trade customers, we also noticed that there were a lot of local visitors which was nice to see, and our country store was extremely busy."
