A PUB garden could be the future site of a 29 home development after plans were submitted.

An application for outline planning permission for a development on the land at the rear of the Bonnie Blue Oak pub has been put into Colchester Council.

The development looks to offer market housing as well as social, affordable or intermediate rent options.

The site in Oak Road, Tiptree could be used for the building of three two-bedroom homes, ten three-bedroom homes and seven four or more bedroom homes.

A total of nine homes will also be built for the purpose of social, affordable or intermediate renting, bringing the total to 29 homes.

Three of those will be two-bedroom homes, there will be three three-bedroom homes and three four or more-bedroom homes.

The plans look to build an access road from the right-hand side of the pub which will be met by a row of six three-bedroom homes.

There will be new landscaping in the pub garden area as well as a larger communal open space within the development.

The plans submitted on behalf of the pub owner, Paul Hiller, will be decided by Colchester Council later this year.
