The next meeting of the council will be on Monday April 21 at 8pm in the committee room of the village hall. A speaker from the district council will be present at this meeting talking about recycling.

If you have any questions, comments, including criticisms of the recycling arrangements and facilities in the village, now is your opportunity to voice them. Any member of the public will be made welcome at this meeting.

VILLAGE HALL TRUSTEES AGM

OTHONA

FOLLOWING on the Retreat Do you believe in Angels being held from April 22 to 24 at Othona under the guidance of Revs Margaret and Laurence Whitford, Othona is hosting a Festival of Song: Harmony Singing, from Friday 25 to Sunday 27 under the direction of Gilo and Sarah. Gilo is a former core member of Othona, Burton Bradstock, and together with Sarah Pennington they are returning to lead another of their inspirational and inclusive weekends of songs and chants from different traditions and cultures. Don't worry if you have never thought of yourself as a singer, all you need is a voice.

Both of the above mentioned activities will be exploring different cultures and traditions albeit from differing angles, and both promise to be inspirational and uplifting. To participate, and learn more, contact the Bradwell office on 776564, or e-mail bradwell@ othona.org.

CHURCH SERVICES

SUNDAY April 20 10.30am at St Thomas Church, Parish Communion will be celebrated and the Evening Service will be held there at 6.30.

SHELL CARAVAN CLUB

NINE units from the Shell Caravan Club, Southend, visited our village the first weekend in April.

This was their introduction to Bradwell on Sea but they seemed undeterred by the inclement weather and braved out the snow storms and cold until Sunday lunch time. Their biggest regret in the circumstances, was that they did not hire the village hall.

We hope to see them, plus more of their members, in the future and will try to provide them with a warmer picture of the village.
