A CLASSIC funfair is set for its return ahead of a carnival.

Stevens' Funfair will be at Riverside Park, in Burnham, for its 70th anniversary year.

A firework display will be held on Saturday, September 17, from 9pm until 9.30pm.

There will be classic rides and amusements for revellers to enjoy.

Funfair chairman Charmaine Stevens, said: “We are all ready for the start of our 2022 funfair opening in Burnham, which my family have done since 1952.

“We go to great lengths every year to provide the Burnham Carnival with some of the best thrill rides and traditional family rides touring in this country.

“We hope everyone comes along to savour the atmosphere of this great event, which also helps local charities.

“We are also having a fireworks display at Millfields on Saturday evening at 9.30pm which will be themed as a mark of respect and a tribute to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth.”

Stevens' Funfair is on from Friday, September 16, until Saturday, September 24.

The funfair will be closed on Monday, September 19 due to the Queen's funeral.

It is open from 5pm on weekdays and from 2pm on Saturdays and Sunday.
