A POPULAR discount retailer is ready for its upcoming shop opening.
QD will be opening its new shop in the High Street in Maldon next week.
The first 100 customers will be given goody bags and a host of competitions and giveaways will be held throughout their opening day.
The 7,000 sq ft shop at the former M and Co site has created 16 new jobs.
The shop, which is the 29th QD shop in the country, will offer home, gardening, pets, furniture and more.
The QD group is East Anglia’s largest independent, family-owned chain of High Street value retail outlets.
Customers can sign up for a free Reward Card in-store to receive 10 per cent off their next shop, plus more deals, treats on their birthday and monthly prize draws.
Manager Luke Willis has moved to Maldon from the Grays branch.
He said, said: “We can’t wait to officially open our new store in Maldon on August 25.

“The final preparations are just being made now, having given the store a full fit-out and a fresh coat of paint in QD’s trademark red.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming customers and showing them fantastic quality, ever-changing deals and value guaranteed that they can expect here in Maldon.”
QD will be opening its new Maldon shop at 44-48 High Street on Thursday, August 25.
It will be officially opened by QD group operations director Karl Ottolangui at 9am.
