HUNDREDS of people are expected to attend a spectacular two-day show raising money for charity.

The Dengie Emergency Services Country Show takes place at the weekend.

There will be craft stalls, local produce and food stalls for the public to try and buy food made in the area.

Money raised will go towards the Salvation Army to thank them for their support given by their Essex emergency services vehicle.

The vehicle has provided the emergency services with refreshments and emotional support at many incidents since its launch last year.

Live music from the Wannabes will deliver the crowds with music from the 50s, 60s and beyond on Saturday.

Wibblers Brewery will have a beer tent on Saturday and Sunday offering a range of ciders, beers and ales.

Jon Vincent, the crew manager of Burnham fire station, said: “I have a few classic fire engines I take to shows around the country and thought it would be great to have an emergency service and country show in this part of the county for all local and far to enjoy.

“It’s a day where people can interact with the emergency services and see the local people that give up so much of their time, like the on-call fire service and first responders in and around the Dengie area.

“There will be lots to look at, modern and vintage tractors, police, fire and ambulance, steam engines, rides, and craft and food stalls.

“This event will donate its profits to the Salvation Army that helps us firefighters with welfare, food and drinks at big incidents that everybody has seen on the news.

“It’s such a pleasant site when you and your crew have been working so hard at jobs to see them turn up and make us food to eat.

“And the first job they went to was a Dengie crops fire right next door to the show.

“We hope that everyone has a great relaxed time here on the Dengie.”

The show is on Saturday and Sunday from 10am until 6pm at Patch Farm, Hall Road, Asheldham, Southminster.

Entry to the show costs £10 for adults and children go free.
