MULTIPLE fun activities and competitions for everyone to enjoy are taking place in the countdown for a much-anticipated event.

Until the big day of the Maldon Carnival on Saturday, there are many activities scheduled this week in the build up to the main event.

Tomorrow sees the return of the Bonniest Baby competition at Maldon Town Hall.

The fun competition looks to find Maldon’s’ bonniest baby in classes aged 0-3 months, 3-6 months, 6-12 months, 12-18 months, 18-24 months and twins from 0-24 months.

The traditional event is on from 1pm until 3pm, entries cost £3 per baby and £1 for additional spectators.

On Thursday a car treasure hunt is taking place where people can get involved by chasing clues in their vehicles.

Organisers invite participants to bring their family and friends along for the ride to various locations for the treasure hunt.

The hunt starts at the registration point at Plantation Hall in Heybridge, entries cost £6 per car.

So far this week, a family sports day and teddy bears picnic took place in Heybridge and a cash bingo event was enjoyed by residents at Maldon Town Hall on Monday.

Today a Royal carnival children’s party took place at Maldon Town Hall which saw children getting involved in games and a royal themed crafting session.
