A pharmacy has announced it is closing its doors.

Burnham Pharmacy, next to the surgery, will close for the last time on September 9 at 7pm.

Prescriptions cannot be collected after that date.

The Burnham-on-Crouch surgery will remain open and no changes will be made to its opening hours.

Once the pharmacy is closed, the nearest alternatives are Savages Pharmacy and Fiveways Pharmacy.

Residents have expressed their sadness about the closure, with many saying how reliable the pharmacy was, especially because of the later opening hours.

A representative from the pharmacy said: “From all of the staff here we want to thank each and everyone of our customers for your loyalty and support over the years.

“We are all gutted that it has come to this but unfortunately it’s reasons out of our control.

“We wish everyone the best and if you have any further questions please feel free to contact the pharmacy and don’t message individually.”

Dispensing patients will be able to collect their prescriptions after the closure. The pharmacy has advised people to speak to the surgery for more details.
