I have noticed that Maldon Council has recently introduced car parking restrictions in the London Road and Highlands Avenue area, which are extremely confusing I had to drive round twice to see where in fact I could park for half an hour because I saw five different time restrictions in that one area.
It would have been helpful if the public had been informed of exactly what times are put where and why.
If it is to prevent people from picking up their children from the three schools, then the times do not fit.
I suspect that it is to make all visitors to the town pay the exorbitant car parking fees for short visits to the town.
But I would be interested if someone could investigate the excuses behind the council's decision to confuse visitors still further and actually make us think twice before visiting the town.
Finally, can I please express my disgust at the again feeble excuses for closing the toilets in the White Horse car park.
They were always so clean and accessible and a great asset to a town of Maldon's size.
Health and safety is just used as an excuse to save some money and it is a pity that we could not join together as one voice to protest at this great loss of a facility.
