AN event is being held in tribute to a woman who died in a horse accident.

Elmwood Equestrian Centre is hosting the wheels and paws event in Burnham-on-Crouch.

The dog event is being held in tribute to Sue Langston, who loved competing in agility contests with her six collies.

Sue lived at Elmwood Equestrian Centre and was killed in a horse-related accident.

Her six dogs are now split between three members from the centre.

There will be amusement stalls, pony rides, face painting and the dog show.

Historic vehicles will be on display, including cars, motorcycles, tractors and military vehicles organised by a group of vehicle and machinery enthusiasts called the Eccentrics.

Pat Charlton, organiser of the dog show, said: “Sue was a major part of Elmwood.

“The show has 11 classes ranging in mini fun agility to the usual veteran and rescue etc.

“Rosettes are printed with her six dogs’ names on the tails and a track from her favourite band is being used for the musical sit class.”

The event is on from 11am until 4pm on Sunday, July 10 at Elmwood Equestrian Centre, Burnham-on-Crouch.

Admission is free and donations are appreciated as proceeds are going towards church restorations for Althorne, Creeksea and Steeple churches.

Entry for the dog show is £3 a class. The first show is at 1pm.
