DAN Mooney is eager to excite Southend United’s supporters next season.
The winger turned down a new deal at Altrincham to sign a two year contract with the Shrimpers.
And he cannot wait to get going with Blues.
“I can’t wait and I’m buzzing to get going now,” said Mooney.
“I’m looking forward to pre-season and then the season after that.
“I’m all about goals and assists.
“I’m an exciting player who likes to create chances and I want to help the team finish as high as we can.”
Mooney was named young player of the year in the National League last season.
But speaking with Blues boss Kevin Maher made him keen to head to Roots Hall.
“He definitely helped me with the choice of coming here,” said Mooney.
“He spoke about the way he wants to set out and play and about the crowd that’s here too so it was good.”
