Next week people across Essex will be enjoying a host of celebrations to mark the Queen’s platinum jubilee.

Communities will come together to mark her 70 years on the throne.

Back in 2012 for Her Majesty’s diamond jubilee people across Braintree, Witham, Halstead, Maldon and Burnham held events to mark the occasion.

Parties and events were held across the area, with Braintree High Street closed off as three town centre pubs joined forces to host a variety of celebrations throughout the day.

Witham’s Picnic in the Park was also a great success with visitors entertained by Witham Big Sing and Little Sing as they enjoyed strawberries and cream.
